‘Tis the season to be jolly! With less than a month to go until Christmas, preparations for the festivities are already in full swing. Having trouble imagining what you can do to transform your radio station into a winter wonderland? No need to worry, it’s time to start rockin’ around the Christmas tree with our top tips!
If you haven’t already got your own online radio station, what better time to launch your project!
Light up your Radio Station
The first thing we suggest you do to get your radio into the festive spirit is to add a Christmassy element to your station’s logo! This will show your listeners that your radio station is adapting to the season and is probably planning something special for the holidays! You can also update the cover photo on your radio page or social media to promote any kind of Christmas or New Year competitions that you might be running.
Top Tip: Schedule hourly Christmas jingles using the breaks module on the Radio Manager.

Get cosy with your listeners
Christmas is all about sharing! Let your listeners know that your radio station wants to be part of their Christmas celebrations. There are many ways that you can get your audience involved, here are some ideas to help:
- Get your listeners to wish their loved ones a Merry Christmas with the audio shout-out widget. They can also share their favourite Christmas traditions! You can then broadcast all of their messages on your radio station, and spread the Christmas spirit.
- Put your Santa Claus boots on and give your listeners the chance to win something special for the holidays by offering a radio contest! The prize could even be some Radio Station Merchandise!
- Lacking ideas for a live broadcast? Head over to your local shopping center and go live using your smartphone. It’s a great opportunity to exchange with passers by about their own Christmas traditions. Get them to wish a Merry Christmas to your listeners too!
- If you have a mobile application for your Radio Station on iOS and/or Android, send your listeners a push notification wishing them a Merry Christmas!
- Spread the Christmas cheer with your favourite jokes! What would Christmas be without crackers and the jokes that come with them. Here are a couple to get you started:
– What do they sing at a snowman’s birthday party? Freeze a jolly good fellow! ⛄️
– What does Santa suffer from if he gets stuck in a chimney? Claustrophobia!
