What is online radio broadcasting?
Online radio broadcasting means streaming audio over the Internet instead of over the airwaves. Unlike FM or AM radio, it doesn’t require a transmitter or local infrastructure. Your station is hosted on a streaming server and your listeners tune in from anywhere in the world, 24/7. That makes it accessible to everyone, from independent creators to schools, businesses and community organizations. It’s also ideal for niche audiences: a specific music genre, local sports, education…
Your station can be heard on a website, a mobile app, smart speakers and even connected cars. With RadioKing, you manage everything from your browser, with no complex setup.
Can I get help?
Of course! You can contact the RadioKing team whenever you want via the Support tab in your Customer Area. We respond in less than 24 hours to each request (and most of the time in less than 3 hours).
You can also consult our numerous tutorials, our YouTube channel or get valuable tips to improve your radio from our blog.
Are technical skills required?
Absolutely not! We have developed RadioKing so that anyone can create their own radio on the Internet, without being a computer or radio pro.
In addition to that, we offer many tutorials to help you fully understand each of the features.
What happens when my demo period ends?
When the demo period ends you can continue your service by purchasing a subscription from this page.
Be careful not to wait too long as you have 20 days before your demo is permanently deleted.
If you do not wish to continue, you do not have to do anything and you will not be charged.

Can I earn money with my radio station?
Yes! You can broadcast as many ads as you want: schedule them in the Radio Manager, and integrate an ad network like AdSense or AdMob into your radio website and mobile app. You can also find sponsors, sell merchandise or ask your listeners for donations (crowdfunding).
Is the radio player included in my offer?
Yes, the radio player is included in all our offers (Start, Pro et Business).
Does my computer need to be turned on 24/7?
With the RadioKing Manager you don’t need to leave your computer on. The radios we host are on cloud servers and run 24 hours a day without any intervention on your end.
However, for customers who wish to do so, it’s also possible to broadcast via a 24-hour broadcasting software (useful for FM radios, for example).
What happens if I exceed my listening hours?
You can follow your consumption of listening hours at any time via your dashboard. We will notify you by email when you reach 80% and 90% of your monthly listening hours. It will then be possible to switch to a higher package in order to increase your listening hours.
If you reach 100% of your package, you will still be able to access your Manager but listeners will not be able to listen to your radio anymore.
It is also possible to increase your limit of listening hours. Please contact our support team.
Can I have multiple radios on the same account?
Yes, you can have multiple radio stations on the same account and easily switch from one radio to another directly from the Radio Manager.
What kind of content can I broadcast?
Almost anything! Your station can reflect your passion, your profession or your community. Popular formats include:
- 24/7 music stations dedicated to a genre (jazz, pop, indie, classic rock…)
- Live talk shows, interviews and debates
- Themed stations: sports, gaming, culture
- Local or national news
- Podcast episodes broadcast in rotation
- Educational radio for schools and universities
- Business radio, for brand awareness or internal communication
You can also add live announcements, contests or guest appearances. Mixing formats keeps your programming lively and your audience engaged.
Do you provide a music license?
To broadcast music subject to copyright, you must obtain authorization from the organizations responsible for regulating the works. RadioKing does not provide any rights for the broadcasting of musical works. We invite you to contact the relevant music licensing authority in the country that you are broadcasting from for more information. You may find this article helpful.
How can people listen to my radio station?
When you create a radio with RadioKing, we provide you with various tools to easily share your station with your audience. You’ll have access to:
- Listening link: a unique link to your audio stream
- SmartLink: one link that regroups several of your links, like your radio stream, your website, and your social media profiles
- Radio Player: customize your radio player and integrate it onto your website
- Radio Page: a mini website to easily share your radio with your audience (included in our Pro and Business Offers)
- Radio directories: a list of partner directories on which your radio will be visible.
In addition, you can create your own radio website and mobile app.
What’s the difference between automatic and live broadcasting?
Automatic broadcasting refers to anything that is scheduled in advance in the Radio Manager (playlists, programs, jingles, pre-recorded content…) It plays even when your computer is switched off.
Live broadcasting is when you use a software to speak to your listeners in real time: interviews, debates, call-ins… You can go live with with free tools such as BUTT, Mixxx and VirtualDJ.
Both broadcasting modes work together! When your live show ends, your scheduled programming takes over automatically, so your station never goes silent.
What do I need to make a radio station?
To get started, all you need is a computer, an Internet connection and a radio hosting provider like RadioKing. To go live, add headphones and a microphone. A USB mic plugs straight into your computer. XLR mics with a mixing desk let you build a more professional studio. Check out our radio equipment guide.
You’ll also need content: music, shows, podcasts or news. Once your content is uploaded and your programming scheduled, your station broadcasts automatically. You can manage several stations from the same account, for example one per theme.

Can I broadcast my FM station online?
Yes! Many FM stations also stream online to reach more listeners. You just need an encoder, either hardware or software (such as BUTT), to send your FM signal to your online stream.
Do you offer the purchase of domain name?
Can I use my own domain name?
Of course! You can use your own domain (hosted on OVH, 1&1, GoDaddy, …). You just have to modify your DNS configuration to link the domain.

Can I remove the RadioKing mention at the bottom of the page?
The White Label is an option that we offer on the radio website (it allows you to remove the mention of “RadioKing” at the bottom of the page).
This feature is optional and is priced at €15/ $18/ £12 /month including VAT on top of your service subscription.
Do I need a website for my radio?
Having a website is not mandatory, but it’s highly recommended. A website makes your radio easy to find on Google and lets you share more than your stream: podcasts, articles, program schedule, events, your team…
How to create a mobile application?
RadioKing allows you to create an iOS and/or Android app without any technical knowledge! Follow our video tutorial to create your app in just a few minutes.
Can you publish my mobile app for me?
Yes we can. There is a paid option for us to do the publishing for you ($50/app). Don’t hesitate to contact our support team to find out more.
Why should radio stations create a mobile app?
Mobile applications facilitate access to your content. They provide a user-friendly way for your audience to listen to and interact with your radio station, wherever they are! Take a look at this blog article for more reasons to create your own radio app.
Are there any additional costs?
Yes, you need an Apple developer account to publish your application on iOS and/or a Google Play developer account to publish your application on Android. Developer accounts are chargeable (and paid directly to Apple/Google): $99/year for Apple and $25 (once, for lifetime use) for Google.
Do I need any technical knowledge?
No! RadioKing offers a ready-made solution for anyone who wants to create a mobile app without knowing how to code. Our tool will allow you to customise your entire app, all without any programming skills 🙂
Can I add several radio streams to the application?
With our mobile application offers, you can add as many radio streams as you like. From your application, your listeners will be able to select the stream they want to hear.
Do I have to publish and/or update my application myself?
You must publish and update the application yourself on your developer accounts. However, you will be guided through each step by our interactive tutorial. Bear in mind that there is a paid option for us to do the publishing for you ($50/app). Don’t hesitate to contact our support team to find out more.
Do you provide a white label for the applications (with no mentions of RadioKing)?
By default, “RadioKing” appears at the bottom of the app description and in the “Info” icon on the application’s reading screen. It’s possible to remove any mentions of RadioKing by activating the white label option.
Is it possible to charge for the application?
Yes, it is possible to charge people to download your application.
Can I earn money with my application?
With Admob, you can add advertising to your app and earn money. To configure Admob in your app, follow our tutorial.
Can I add podcasts to the application?
Yes, you can add podcasts to your app. Simply create an RSS tab and add the RSS feed of your podcast.
Can I have multiple radio stations on the same Alexa Skill?
For now, you can only have one radio station per Alexa Skill. If you have multiple radio stations, you will need to create multiple Skills.
On which speakers are Alexa Skills available?
Alexa is Amazon’s virtual assistant. Primarily built into devices such as Amazon Echo, this assistant is also available on many speakers such as Marshall, Ultimate Ears, Sonos, Yamaha, Denon, Bose, JBL…
Do I have to publish my own Alexa Skill?
You don’t have to worry about publishing your voice app. We take care of publishing your Alexa Skill to our own Amazon developer account.
Do I need a developer account?
You don’t need a specific account to create your Alexa Skill. Our team will publish your skills on our developer accounts.
Can I modify my voice applications after they've been published?
Unfortunately, you cannot modify Alexa Skills yourself after they have been published. The modification of your voice applications is possible, but it requires a complete republishing by one of our developers. Republishing is priced at $18/ £12 /€10.
Does the mention "RadioKing" appear on the player?
No, the radio player is white-labeled and therefore does not display any mentions of RadioKing.
Does the radio player work on a mobile phone?
Radio Player uses HTML5 to launch playback, making it compatible with most smartphones.
Can I stop my subscription at any time?
Yes you can stop your subscription at any time via your customer area. We have written a tutorial to show you the necessary steps.
When you cancel a service, the subscription will automatically terminate on the upcoming due date.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept most credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard or American Express. We also accept payments via Paypal. Payments by bank transfer or check are only accepted for annual offers.
Is it possible to temporarily suspend my subscription?
Subscriptions are renewed automatically from date to date. It’s therefore not possible to temporarily stop your subscriptions and then resume them.
Can I change my subscription?
Yes, at any time! You can switch to a higher or lower subscriptions whenever you want via your customer area. In the case of a switch to a higher offer, a prorated invoice will automatically be generated for the remaining days of your subscription.
Are subscriptions automatically renewed?
Yes. All subscriptions are renewed monthly or annually depending on your payment preferences.
How much does it cost to create a radio station?
RadioKing offers several subscriptions, billed monthly or annually, to suit every project and budget. Compare offers and features on our pricing page. All offers include cloud hosting, scheduling, automation and support. You don’t need to run your own server or handle technical maintenance. You can also try RadioKing free for 14 days, with no commitment and no credit card required.
Keep in mind that your main investment will be time: creating content and engaging with your audience takes consistency. Scheduling and automation tools help you save a lot of it.
